You travel with your clan, leaving the mainland behind, and gaze upon it for the first time. You’ve heard stories, of course, but no tale of Njord, Freyja, or even the almighty Thor could have prepared you for this sight – the fjord. As a young Viking, still learning what this world has to offer, there’s one thing you’re now certain of: the journey. The lush green mountain slopes fade into the coldness of the sea, and the sky is reflected on the water’s surface. It resembles a gateway. A chalice. A path towards something new.

A new path ahead

Welcome, fishing conquerors! Today, we embark on yet another angling journey! With the introduction of the Northern Fjord fishery, we’re gazing upon one of nature’s most majestic landscapes: the fjords, a hallmark of beauty and an invitation to discover what’s beneath the icy cold waters. In this article, we’ll explore the various characteristics of fjords as a natural phenomenon and reflect on the world history from the 8th to the 11th century, when Vikings were making their conquests. But before that, we’ll examine the various designs featured in this new fishery in Fishing Clash! Grab your mead and ale (or a more contemporary drink), and let us depart!

As the game changes, so do the fjords

Just as the Vikings saw these fjords as gateways to new adventures, we, too, see them as an opportunity to explore the unseen world beneath the surface in our angling pursuits. The Northern Fjord fishery is our entryway into this wild and untamed environment in Fishing Clash. During the design stage, the Fishing Clash team explored the new visual opportunities that come with the Northern Fjords in the context of our new fishing mode for clans: the Arena.

The idea behind our special Arena fisheries is to open new frontiers to players who may not yet be experienced enough to reach a given fishery in regular gameplay. Each new fishery is now created along with stunning visual counterparts tailored toward the Arena experience, expanding the area where we fish and inducing the Arena-related feeling of comradery and fishing together with our clanmates. As such, the Northern Fjords arrive with three of their Arena counterparts! We hope our Anglers can see them all during Clan Matches. Good luck!

The tales of Vikings and their fjords
