Fishing Clash partnered with PlanetPlay, a not-for-profit climate-conscious marketplace, and New Zealand NGO WAI Wanaka to have the Fishing Clash team create an in-game event dedicated to cleaning New Zealand’s virtual waterways. The objective was to raise players’ awareness about  global water issues. During the event players were challenged to fish out trash from the game’s New Zealand fishery, gradually returning it to its original look. They were challenged to complete the community goal, thanks to their commitment Ten Square Games donated $30,000 to the WAI Wanaka’s project – Teeny Tiny Truth which monitors the number of microplastics in New Zealand’s waterways with the help of fly fishers. WAI Wānaka aims to connect individuals, community groups, landowners and businesses undertaking positive work towards building healthy ecosystems and supporting community wellbeing in the region of New Zealand.
