Arena in Fishing Clash

Fishing together in the Arena – a new mode for Clans!

Published: August 2, 2024

After discussing tactics, Anglers have rushed out to the open waters. Everyone knows their role, sure, but things change quickly when facing a rival Clan. Is that… yes! Someone noticed a prized catch in the middle of the lake. But the opposing Clan also spotted it! Looks like this won’t be an easy one for both sides! Still, when there’s a lot to gain, there’s also plenty to lose. Such are the rules of the Arena! Welcome, Anglers, to the clash of your lives!

What is all this excitement about? Fishing Clash Anglers enter a new stage of Clan-on-Clan competitions with the Arena mode! Clashing in the Arena takes place during Clan Matches and happens in real-time; the idea is to recreate real-life fishing tournaments as closely as possible! In this article, we’ll go through some of the key details of this amazing new addition to the game and point to further reading in our FAQ. Additionally, we’ll mention some of the overall benefits we — as humans (not just Anglers!) — gain from doing things together. The Arena is now open, so let’s take a look inside!

Ever since the creation of Clans in Fishing Clash back in 2018, we wanted to provide our Anglers with a platform not only to fish together but also to form friendships and take part in tournament activities alongside other people. People we get to know and, ultimately, care about. The first Clan Matches were the very first attempt to add a sense of healthy rivalry into fishing, which is usually considered a solitary (even meditation-like!) activity. The new Arena mode is getting that very desire a step closer to reality!

The Arena in Fishing Clash takes place in exclusive fishing spots dedicated solely to the Arena itself. Anglers enter the Arena, where the total number of fish is limited, and each one caught adds a specific number of points to the total scoring of the Clan Match. The fishing itself is somewhat different from the other game areas and brings a nice spice of competition for everyone taking part! Here, you only get a certain time to reel in each fish, and each has a Health Point bar to indicate its tiredness. If an Angler doesn’t manage to reel it in within the allotted time, the fish swims away, ready to be snatched by the same Angler or someone else!

Since fishing in the Arena takes place in real-time between Clans, it’s very much possible that the fish we’ve been fighting (and got away!) will eventually get caught by someone else. Hopefully, by someone from our own Clan! There’s also some added complexity in the form of an Arena-dedicated rod. That particular rod allows Clan mates to strategize which fish species they’re going after, whether it’s the plentiful common ones or others from different rarities that score higher but are more sparse.

One final tip to our Anglers reading this article is to keep their eye on Critical Strike, something exclusive to fishing in the Arena! Throughout regular fishing in Fishing Clash, Anglers are rewarded with more points when they fight their catch with precision and excellence, meaning they keep their rods steady and in the center. The Arena also utilizes this way of stylish fishing but in a different fashion. Keeping the rod steady, so in the center of the fishing progress bar, charges the Critical Strike, a tool that allows for quicker reeling in of our catch. Our advice is to build as much Critical Strike as possible to unleash it before our fishing time ends! This allows us to catch even the toughest fish, which have the most stamina!

Since we’re on the topic of fishing together in Clans, especially at the dawn of the new Arena mode, it’s also worth mentioning that even online interactions can be beneficial for us in the context of human well-being! One of the key hormones released even through engaging in online interactions is oxytocin, the bonding hormone. It promotes feelings of trust and camaraderie and provides a sense of belonging and community.

Another one of these so-called neurotransmitters, dopamine, is present while performing activities together online. Dopamine is released when achieving goals, earning rewards, and progressing through in-game challenges. It provides us with a sense of accomplishment and pleasure.

Finally, we can also take serotonin into account, a hormone crucial for our mood regulation. Positive experiences in our online fishing environment, such as winning a Clan Match, receiving kudos from our Clan mates, or simply enjoying the game together, can boost our serotonin levels. And serotonin is known for reducing feelings of loneliness and anxiety, which is a direct boost to our mental health!

Since all of this is crucial for our well-being, let’s repeat what we gain from fishing, even online! Our oxytocin fosters trust and connection, dopamine provides motivation and pleasure, and serotonin stabilizes our mood. These neurochemical responses, visible in many scientific studies, demonstrate that, even in a virtual environment such as that of Fishing Clash, human interactions can significantly enhance our mental health and social connectedness.

Do we need any more reasons to join a Clan in Fishing Clash and try our angling abilities in the Arena mode? The Arena is out now, so let’s dive into the game and straight into the thrill and joy of fishing together like never before!
